Meet the Governors

The governing body of Ascot Heath Infant School exists to ensure high standards of achievement for all children and young people in the school by:

    • Setting the school's vision, ethos and strategic direction
    • Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
    • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

To this end the governing body is made up of three committees, The Full Governing Body (FGB) on which all governors sit, The Finance and Staffing (F&S) committee and the Teaching, Learning and Community (TLC) committee.

To fulfil our requirements as governors we meet regularly as committees as well as visiting the school often to see all that is going on.For more information about what we do please see the document "What the Governors do at Ascot Heath Infant School".

Hello, I'm Nikki and I am the Chair of governors.  I'm mum to two girls, one at infants and one at the Juniors.  I have been a governor since October 2013. As a parent I believe we are extraordinarily privileged to have such a fantastic local infant school, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff.  As a governor I value the opportunity this offers me to support the school and to be a small part of the team to ensure we continue to offer the best start for all our pupils.

Hi, my name is Nicola and I have lived in Ascot for 11 years. I have 4 children, 2 who attended Ascot Heath Infant School. I was the bursar at Ascot Heath for nearly 6 years and decided I wished to continue supporting the school and the children when I left and therefore took on the position of Local Authority Governor. I thoroughly enjoy the role and hope that my input makes a difference. I am the chair of the Finance and Staffing Committee.

I was Head Teacher at Ascot Heath Infants School for 11 years since September 2007.  I retired in August 2018 and was asked to be Executive Head Teacher, two days a week to support Miss Barrett.  I am also Executive Head Teacher at Ascot Heath CE Junior School two days a week.  I am very proud of our school, the staff, parents, governors but especially the children.  I try very hard to ensure that they are at the centre of everything we do at school. We are constantly trying to improve the school experience for every child.  When I am not working I enjoy time spent with my family and  I enjoy reading, holidays, sewing and knitting!

I am InterimHeadteacher and SENDCo at Ascot Heath Infants and I have worked here for the past 7 years. During this time I have been fortunate to teach in all year groups however I am now out of class in order to pursue my new role of Acting Headteacher. I am passionate about providing children the best start in their education and I am incredible lucky to be able to this alongside the wonderful team we have at Ascot Heath Infants.

My name is Ollie Clayson and I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I have taught in Prep Schools, Independent Day and Boarding Schools. My experiences have afforded me the opportunity to see how pupils develop in different environments and from different backgrounds. Becoming a governor is an exciting role in a very passionate team, and I chair the Teaching, Learning & Curriculum committee. I am also the Safeguarding governor. I am a sports fanatic and have various other roles in this field. I have 2 sons and live about 300 metres from the school!

Hello, I’m Paul and I have two sons, with my eldest attending the Infant school. I work for a charity based in Ascot called the Learning Foundation, where we focus on children struggling at school and the ability of technology to lift them and their potential. I’m looking forward to helping the school, contributing my experience with budgets, fundraising and HR.

Hello my name is Heather Seaton and I am the class teacher of Foxes. I stood in for Laura Barrett whilst her sabbatical took her all around the world in 2016-17! I was elected as the staff governor in September 2017.  I joined Ascot Heath in 2014 after studying at St Mary’s University in Twickenham. During my free time I like to read and go swimming.

Hello I’m Scott, married to Chie and our daughter attends the school. I worked for 26 years as Group Marketing Director for an international sports organisation, and am now an independent consultant and company director. I’ve lived and travelled internationally all my life, so I’m a great believer in learning from others and we already appreciate the value of the richly mixed community at the school. I’ve been a governor previously, so I recognise it’s an honour to now serve our school and to help enhance our children’s education.

I am passionate about our community and particularly seeing our children flourishing and getting the best start to their education. In my work as a pastor of a local church I am experienced in creating an environment where everyone, mostly volunteers, can be involved and use their skills and abilities to make the biggest difference. I am also on the Leadership team for larger group of churches which involves setting vision and strategy and working through transformation programmes and empowering churches to impact in their towns/cities. It is a privilege to serve on such a dynamic governing body in such a fantastic school.

I'm Jackie and I am the clerk to the governors. My background is in Market Research project management, and I am also a trained cranio-sacral therapist.  I have two sons, who used to attend the Infant school.  As clerk, I support the governing body administratively and help to ensure best practice.

Governor Awards

Every term, we take great pleasure in coming into school to give out our Governor School Value Awards. These awards are given to help the children to understand the importance of our school values.

Our five values are: Respect, Responsibility, Empathy, Perseverance  and Curiosity.

It is amazing to see how the children respond to these awards. These are not awards for behaviour or good work, but solely linked to the 5 values of the school.
